Michela Magas on music search and discovery (by michelamagas)

Sonaris: a completely new way to search for, discover and licence music by analysing musical qualities in real time.

This new audio search technology makes it quick to discover and license music by unknown artists. It is capable of analysing specific audio files found during an initial search in real-time, say for example a song by a famous artist, it then displays a list of similar sounding tracks from lesser known artists globally within seconds. This music can then be licensed for reuse by people looking for music in the creative industries, such as independent movie makers.

The commercial version of Sonaris is funded by Peter Gabriel.

  1. Screening
  2. Interacting
  3. Sharing
  4. Flowing
  5. Accessing
  6. Generating

The Primary Verb = Sharing - Anything that can be shared will be shared.

“By sharing everything, you encourage the discussion, exchange and re-interpretation of ideas, which can lead to unexpected and innovative outcomes.”
